As part of our ongoing commitment to serve our customers, Emdeon is providing this update regarding our plans related to the publication of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) for the migration of the HIPAA transactions to version 5010 and NPCDP D.0, as well as the adoption of the ICD-10 code sets.
Emdeon is currently in the process of evaluating all formats, products, systems, and services to determine the impact of these NPRMs on our customers.
As an industry leader, Emdeon staff actively participates in standard-setting organizations such as the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), X12, and NCPDP. Emdeon continually tracks the NPRM process with the intention of helping our customers through each transition. As with the first round of HIPAA Standards, the implementation will be asynchronous among trading partners. Emdeon will facilitate this process by meeting our customers’ needs and will provide translation services between the current and future HIPAA Transactions and Code Sets and ICD standards.
As your revenue and payment cycle partner, we will continue to keep you informed of Emdeon’s progress, and the industry’s movement towards the adoption of the proposed Transaction and Code Sets and ICD-10 NPRMs.
